Welcome to Luisa’s Tennis Academy

"From Ecuador to Miami, tennis has always been my greatest love. Now, I’m here to share that passion and teach the game that has shaped my life."

Luisa's Approach to Coaching and Philosophy

When I coach kids, my first goal is simple: make sure they have fun. If they’re not enjoying themselves, if they don’t fall in love with the game, then nothing else really matters. Tennis has to be something they want to come back to. I do everything I can to create a positive, exciting environment that makes them want to run onto the court, not away from it.

But underneath the fun, I’m always building something more. If they love it, if they get hooked, then I have the opportunity to teach them things that go far beyond strokes and serves. Tennis becomes the vehicle—but what I’m really teaching is the inner game.

The longer I coach, the more I realize that what these kids walk away with doesn’t stop at the baseline. I work hard to help them develop tools that matter on the court, but even more importantly, off the court. Tools like toughness. Resiliency. Persistence. And maybe most of all, attitude—the ability to stay positive, stay composed, and keep showing up even when things don’t go your way.

I talk to my players about how to bounce back after a bad point. How to handle losing a match. How to stay focused under pressure. These are tennis lessons—but they’re also life lessons. Subtle things they’ll carry into school, into friendships, into jobs, and into every challenge life will throw their way.

Of course, my job is to teach them the game—how to move, how to hit, how to compete. But my real mission is to give them something that will last a lifetime. If they can learn to face difficulty with a steady attitude, to push through when it gets hard, to trust themselves even when they doubt—then I’ve done my job.

Tennis first taught me those lessons that I have leaned on all of my life nd I am passionate about these things. They hare hardwired into my heart and for the love of the kids I coach. And now, through coaching, I get to pass all of that forward—one serve, one smile, one lesson at a time
